For a place that has long been billed as one of the happiest places on earth is now at the epicentre of tragedy, 3 tragic events have left over 50 innocent people dead, numerous of families grieving and a city reeling. In a matter of days Orlando saw the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history, a young singer senselessly shot down and an innocent little 2 year old boy snatched by an alligator at a Disney hotel.
Gun crime is yet again at the forefront of the news with a young 22 year old singer being shot dead. Christina Grimmie, who was best known for appearing on the American version of The Voice was killed after a concert in Florida.
The horrific act at Pulse nightclub struck a chord with me as I've spent a huge amount of time going to gay bars and have a large amount of gay friends. It's unnerving that a place where gay people see as a haven, away from hatred and discrimination, can be such a focal point for a dreadful and cruel attack.
